About Me

Welcome — I’m Louise Hawkins.
I’m a holistic therapist and coach, currently completing an MSc in Pluralistic Counselling.

My Story

I grew up in Scotland and, like many people, experienced periods of searching, confusion, and questioning during my early years. Even then, I sensed there was more to life than what I could see or understand at the time.

At 19, a significant personal loss had a lasting impact on my life and became a turning point in how I understood grief, resilience, and emotional pain. This experience shaped my curiosity about the inner world and the ways people make sense of difficult experiences.

In the years that followed, I spent extended periods living and travelling abroad, including time in Egypt, India, and later Trinidad & Tobago. These experiences exposed me to different cultures and ways of living, deepening my understanding of simplicity, connection, and the relationship between emotional, physical, and psychological wellbeing.

Over time, this led me into training across a range of holistic and complementary approaches, including Hypnotherapy, NLP, EFT, and other mind–body practices. Alongside this professional training, I have continued to reflect on my own experiences, recognising how personal history can shape confidence, relationships, and sense of self.

Life has included marriage, separation, parenting, and returning to Scotland after many years abroad. These experiences inform my work, grounding it in compassion, realism, and respect for the complexity of people’s lives.

Today, I work as a holistic therapist and coach and am currently completing an MSc in Pluralistic Counselling. I am a Student Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in line with the BACP Ethical Framework, with regular supervision.

My approach is relational, reflective, and paced. I offer a calm, supportive space where people can explore challenges such as confidence, anxiety, life transitions, emotional overwhelm, and patterns that no longer feel helpful. My work is not about fixing or forcing change, but about understanding what has shaped you and exploring what support might help you move forward in a way that feels right for you.

I bring both professional training and lived experience to my work, alongside a strong commitment to ethical practice, ongoing learning, and supervision. You don’t need to have everything figured out to begin — just a willingness to explore.

You’re welcome to get in touch to talk things through and ask any questions.
